What it is

A webhook that trades like you do — leader first, then every follower.

Create a strategy in MimikTrader and you get a unique webhook URL plus a paste-ready TradingView alert template. When your TradingView strategy or indicator fires, the alert posts to that URL and MimikTrader places the order on your chosen leader account — entry and protective bracket together.

From there it is the same battle-tested pipeline as your manual trading: the leader's order replicates to every follower account in the copy group, each follower applies its own multiplier and contract conversion, and each account's risk rules stay in force. One alert, the whole group, nothing retyped.

Why generic alert bots fall short

Most webhook bots trade one account and hope for the best.

Typical TradingView automation places a naked market order on a single account. No bracket at entry, no per-account risk enforcement, and a duplicated alert becomes a duplicated position. For a prop trader running multiple evaluations and funded accounts, every one of those gaps is an account-killer.

MimikTrader treats the alert as an order path, not a shortcut. Entries carry their take profit and stop loss natively, every signal is idempotent — TradingView retries can never double an order — and each copied account still answers to its own daily loss, drawdown, and consistency rules. A locked account simply does not take the trade.

You stay in control

Every strategy is configured, filtered, and reversible.

Each strategy carries its own configuration: long-only, short-only, or both sides; fixed, signal-driven, or multiplier sizing; entry and exit order types with time-in-force; take profit and stop loss in ticks or absolute price, including trailing stops; a trading-window filter with timezone support; optional entry delay; and retry policies for transient failures.

Strategies have an enable/disable switch, a full signal history showing every alert received and what happened to it, and a webhook secret you can rotate at any time. Turn a strategy off and its alerts are acknowledged and ignored — nothing fires until you turn it back on.

Security & reliability

Built like production order infrastructure.

Webhook secrets are stored as one-way hashes and shown exactly once — rotate them whenever you want and the old URL dies instantly. Unknown strategies and wrong secrets receive identical empty responses, so the endpoint reveals nothing. Every strategy is rate-limited, and every alert is answered fast so TradingView never times out.

Alerts carry a stable event ID, so TradingView's retry behavior can never place the same order twice. Signals are persisted before they are processed — a restart mid-alert recovers the work instead of losing it.

In a live trade

What happens when one account breaks a rule?

One leader trade. Five follower accounts. One breach. Here is what MimikTrader does about it.

Step 01

Trade copied across five accounts

You place a trade on the leader account. MimikTrader sends the correct order to each follower based on its copy settings.

Step 02

One account reaches its daily loss limit

Account 03 hits the configured daily loss threshold while the copied position is still live.

Step 03

MimikTrader flattens the affected account

The breached account is closed according to your configured flatten rule.

Step 04

The account is locked

New copied trades are blocked from entering that account until the lock is cleared.

Step 05

Other accounts keep running

Accounts 01, 02, 04, and 05 continue following the copy group because they did not breach their rules.

Step 06

The event is recorded

The fill, breach, flatten action, account lock, and timestamp are written to the trade record.

FAQ

Common questions

No. Create a strategy in MimikTrader, copy the generated webhook URL and alert JSON template into a TradingView alert, and you are live. Any strategy, indicator, or drawing alert that can send a webhook works.

Webhook alerts require TradingView Essential or higher, and TradingView requires two-factor authentication on your account before webhooks can be enabled.

Tradovate today, with native bracket placement on the leader. Rithmic support is coming soon and uses the same native bracket approach. ProjectX does not support order strategies.

Nothing extra. Every alert carries a stable event ID and MimikTrader deduplicates on it, so TradingView's retry behavior can never place a duplicate order.

Yes. Automated entries pass the same per-account risk checks as manual trading — daily loss, drawdown, consistency rule, and locks. A locked account will not take an automated entry, and closing a position is never blocked.

The strategy controls the leader's size — fixed quantity, the signal's quantity, or a multiplier. Each follower then applies its own multiplier and optional micro/mini contract conversion, exactly like manual copy trading.

The secret is stored as a one-way hash and shown exactly once — you can rotate it at any time, which kills the old URL instantly. Wrong or unknown URLs get identical empty responses, and every strategy is rate-limited.

It is a Pro plan feature. The 7-day free trial covers everything in Pro, so you can connect a strategy and test it before you are billed.
